Grand Central Station

Of course, what could complete a trip to NY with my mother other than running into someone she knows (her neighbor, no less) in Grand Central Station, the busiest place on earth. We ended up going on the same train home, which was thrilling to them!

35th Wedding Anniversary Party in NYC

Mike, my mom and I took the Metro North Train to NYC to meet up with the Funaro gang for a 35th wedding anniversary party for Uncle Dennis and Aunt MaryEllen. We ate at this restaraunt called Churrascaria Plataforma. You can see the picture of one of our waitors above. It is a Brazilian Steakhouse where they serve EVERY kind of meat on these swords. On top of all the meat choices, they bring side dishes to you- mashed potatoes, broccoli, onion rings, etc. Then on TOP of that, there is a salad bar, which includes other side dishes, sushi, shrimp and other seafood dishes, as well as regular old salad, pasta salad, bean salad, cheese... pretty much anything you can possibly think of. Whew!
Oh, and did I mention you also get a dessert! Tiramisu, chocolate mousse, coffee ice cream...
A ridiculous amount of food.

Happy Birthday to me!

Mike

First, a picture of Mike caught off guard...and not too pleased! Second, a cute one. : )

Tulips

The interesting part about the bright pink tulip, is that when I originally planted it and it bloomed the first year, it was white with tiny stripes of pink at the tip. Now it bloomed completely pink! I'm not sure if it is the soil or what? The other large purple tulip is called a ballade tulip and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately, although I had originally planted 6, this is the only one that bloomed this year.

The Garden slowly returns...

Some of the perennials starting to return... asters and petite delight bee balm.
